🖋 The State of the Wagyu

Wagyu beef is expanding in Colombia, with the breed now attracting a larger share of local consumers. The expansion is reported as a rapid growth in Colombian markets, drawing in customers who were previously unfamiliar with Wagyu.

In marketplace activity this week, 541 new listings appeared across 26 seller sites in four countries, up from 492 the week before. The inventory mix was 374 semen offers and 167 embryo offers. With 151 priced semen entries, the median asking price per straw was $80, while 85 priced embryo entries had a median asking price of $700. The United States dominated the listings, providing 395 entries, followed by Australia with 63, Austria with 47 and Germany with 36. The most frequently offered sires were Scd‑Aa and Defect‑Free Wagyu Cattle (6 listings), Goorambat R1176 (3 listings), Hoh Toshiro 2 (3), Mayuko Wg170 (3) and Michifuku (3).
